Bikes

These are the bikes I’ve taken on multi-day, multi-month, or multi-year trips over the last five years of traveling by bike. When I’m picking a bike, the most important aspect is that it doesn’t limit me in where I can go. With this in mind, along with my love of quiet dirt roads and trails, you’ll find that most are built around tires in the 2.6”-3” range, which I find to be the sweet spot for comfort and stability in the rough stuff, and enough speed to get by when forced onto tarmac. The bike that started it all. Handcrafted to my dimensions by Kris Henry at 44 Bikes. I rode this throughout all of South America.

An apocalypse-proof dirt tourer built around big tires and a Rohloff drivetrain.

Jack-of-all trades, Master of none. From Commuting to multi-month trips through the Turkish countryside.

A lively rig based around the 29+ platform and a carbon fork that I used on Michigan’s North Country Trail.
